ATAK Helmets are approved by the GAA and are one of the few helmet manufacturers who have passed the rigorous testing necessary to gain this approval. All helmets must pass the IS:355 safety standard introduced by the NSAI. Wearing an unapproved or modified helmet puts the player at risk, and also means that the player is no longer covered by the GAA Injury Benefit Fund.
